Ethica: My baby-boy

Ethica, my amazing wonderful gorgeous hanoverian gelding (12), will soon start jumping again. He is once again 100 percent sound. His sole was too thin when we bought him, so every time I jumped him, his bone would hit the ground and he'd constantly be getting lame. Now that his sole is thicker, he will be able to jump after we go to our FIRST SHOW in a long time. I'm so excited! My wonderful boy is doing flat lessons with my jumping trainer and dressage lessons with my dressage trainer. He is being so much fun to train! I know I haven't posted in a long time and I might not post for a while anymore but I am thinking bout ya'll! HAVE A GREAT HOLIDAYS!!!!!

Perfection

My idea of the perfect course, or the winning round in the show ring is the one that gives you a thrill. That one ride where you feel all your troubles slip away. That ride makes you smile and grin. It may not win blue. This round may not even be a competition. Maybe nobody is even watching. You can walk or gallop, but if it connects you to the wonderful soul beneath you, and extends a smile to your lips, that's what matters. Maybe you're not even riding the horse. Just being with him. Having a moment of understanding where you feel that if the feeling lasted any longer, you would become literally joined to the horse. The more of these moments, the more you become a connected soul, the same being, the creature that never touches the ground. That is perfection. Treasure it, love it, become it.
